Speech imparts some knowledge to the people

Speech imparts some knowledge to the people

The homie Shux Wun of Music & Strength TV recently interview SPEECH of Arrested Development in Osaka, Japan. I think what he says here is valuable, especially for the generation being raised on Lil Wayne and Kesha (who’s music makes me want to vomit blood).

The disconnect between conscious or message music and mainstream music is, however often the chasm of production quality. Sometimes people just want to dance and mainstream music has the funding and sponsorship necessary to attract the best producers and usage of the best studios. I think here in lies the key of bringing the good vibes and conscience thought of Tribe Called Quest and Public Enemy back to the fore front. Get some messages behind some great production and we have ourselves a formula that might un-brainwash the masses from their apathetic malaise and re-inspire youth to do something about the wack shit that is happening in the world. Go forth fellow artists…I believe in you. Make a booty dance song about HIV / AIDS awareness, throw down some dub step tunage about child slavery – why not? You are artists right?
