Brevi One is the truth

Brevi One is the truth

I’m probably a lot harder on Female Emcees than I am on male ones.  Maybe I’ve become jaded by the barage of doo doo femecees that talk a great game but deliver some half stepping rendition of a Jurassic 5 flow complete with some lyric about how they are strong women. *ad nauseum* Or some gangster bitch flexes where long analogies are drawn between their snatch and a gun…borrrrrring.

Last night I got to work at the Kops & Robber studio with Brevi One and this artist is nasty with it.  Respect to true rude gyal swagger.  Grateful for this collabo soon to be released on this record (Oh shit it’s gonna be a good one!  Bang it in your ride and drive slow so the people on the street can feel it).  Oh yeah, I’m a fan – Brev One is the truth.

BREVI MYSPACE

BIO

Brevi is, by any definition of b-girl, a b-girl.As a wearer of many hats, she’s what you’d refer to as a jill-of-all-trades talented in breaking, tagging, rapping and singing . So in walking through the maze like passage ways of a studio that seemed more Batcave than the place where Dre recorded The Chronic, we figured Brevi had to be pretty official in order for her to record there of all places. And we found out she’s indeed official. There is no bravado about her and she assures you she means it when she says that she loves hiphop music. But she can’t say for certain where she’s from exactly. Having a difficult childhood and growing up in “every city” in California, Brevi called alot of places home . After about 5 seconds of Q&A and the aroma of westcoast kush, you begin to realize that it was the combination of the streets and her mama’s steadfast swagger that gave her that added flavor. They seasonsed her into what she is today…a true artist.
