What a crazy line up for a show! Slim Twig, Winter Gloves, Gentleman Reg…then throw in Masia One with DJ Loqenz, songstress Soren, Japan Bashment Gyals Kumi & Miri (Reggae Dancers), Bboy Armaghetto and of course RIZ ONE! LOL. I had such a great time playing this show, and couldn’t believe the support from fans that came out on this one! Special thanks to all the volunteers at the library that sold the merch and made everything run so smoothly!

My friend Stephane showed me his daughter’s agenda for the day…which included coming out to “Meja 1’s” concert LOL. She drew me the sweetest picture! I don’t get to do All Ages shows very often, so I get really excited about rocking for everyone young and old.

Japan Reggae Dancers brucking it out for Return of the Bgirl
The set was a lot of fun! I knew that my music would be bringing a different vibe to the night, so I wanted to maximize this by giving the peoples the pieces of culture that I love and experience. Loqenz is a great DJ and an inspiration for myself, so it was a great honor to have her guest appear on this set. My singer Kaya couldn’t make it to the show, but she brought out Soren who is an amazing vocalist! I can hardely believe it when I see these tiny little gyals with monumental voices! I know a lot of the emo-yutes may not have seen reggae dancing let alone Japan gyals bruck out so I wanted to infuse this into the set. Bboy Armaghetto of course held it down with his gully style breaks and mastery of head spin and other advanced human abilities.
I read a blog recently that criticized what these girls were wearing - but I hope people understand that the international community is getting smaller and smaller, and our influences and cultures are beginning to infuse in new and exciting ways. I believe there should be a greater acceptance of combinations outside of the steel framed box one may have placed themselves in.
